New Blog!

So, we've decided to start this blog as a fun way to keep up with our puppy Charlie. We got Charlie on October 3oth from a rescue group in Austin called "Austin Pets Alive." If you're ever needing a new cat or dog...please look into this group. They're a great organization that rescues dogs and cats from townlake that are on the euthanasia list.

Anyways, enough about that. We absolutely LOVE our new little mutt. Charlie was born on Sept. 4th, 2009 and he's an Australian Cattle Dog mix. We saw his little picture online, then went and met him and got him! He has been a great puppy so far. We have him in training classes at PetsMart, where Charlie's actually going to graduate this Wednesday! He already knows lots of commands like sit, lay down, leave it, wrong, *stay, *shake, etc. * = still learning!

The goal of this blog is to post at least one picture of Charlie each day throughout 2010. We'll write a little bit about him here & there and let you all know if there's anything exciting happening in our lives...but it's mainly an online scrapbook of our first year with our new little addition to the family.

January 1st was a lazy day - the first picture is of Charlie on that day helping me get ready in the afternoon. He likes to sit on clean clothes or whatever else is on the floor of the bathroom while I dry my hair or do my makeup.

January 2nd, 2010 was yesterday. G and I went to breakfast, ran some errands, looked at houses (for fun, we're hoping to buy in 2010,) then came home. G went to play poker last night with some friends so C, my best friend and her dog Bailey, Charlie's best friend, got together at our place and had a play date. Bailey is a 5 month old Smooth Collie/Golden mix and he's currently losing teeth...which leads to bleeding of the gums. This leads to Charlie looking like he's covered in red war paint when Bailey loses a tooth while playing :)
Today is January 3, 2010 and so far today we've had brunch with our good friend F and his new girlfriend at Kerbey Lane Cafe..mmmmm! Then G and I ran some more errands and came home to take Charlie for a long walk. He loves walking around the complex, barking at people from far away, meeting new dogs and going to the mailbox with us.

Anyways, hope everyone enjoys the blog, we love our little dog (soon to be big dog!) and can't wait to look back on this blog in about a year and see all we've been through in our first year together as a new little family!
